NEC Show: Suzuki celebrates 25 years of the GSX-R
Suzuki kicked off the 25th anniversary celebrations for the GSX-R at the NEC Show today.
The Japanese manufacturer has a handful of bikes on its stand tracing the sports bikes history from the introduction of the 750 in 1985 to the launch of the new 2010 anniversary special edition.
The UK only special edition was unveiled on press day afternoon.
Suzuki plans to stage events throughout 2010 to mark the anniversary, but details of these have yet to be revealed.
Visitors to the show learned about the history of the iconic bikes including a pristine 1986 GSX-R750 Ltd. used by Kevin Schwantz to learn the Donnington track prior to the Transatlantic race.
There is also an immaculate 2001 GSX-R1000 and a 600 restored by Crooks Suzuki for the show.
